The Horse Whisperer Intensive is a private, three-morning retreat designed for those who want to understand horses on a deeper level.
This experience is not about riding faster, higher, or harder. It is about listening, observing,
and learning to communicate with horses in a way that feels natural, respectful, and deeply rewarding.
The course is not about riding more or riding better. It is about connection, awareness,
and building confidence around horses in a calm and respectful environment.
Horse whispering is not magic. It is based on observation, timing, body awareness and energy.
Horses are extremely sensitive animals and constantly read our posture, focus and emotions.
When you learn to adjust these small details, the connection between you and the horse changes completely.
Spread over three mornings, this hands on course takes you off the horse and into their world.
You will work closely with several horses and learn how they think, react and communicate with humans and with each other.
This course is ideal if you are new to horses, feel nervous riding, want to build confidence, want to learn how to handle and lead a horse safely, or want to understand horse communication out of the saddle.
It is open to men and women, ages 8 and up. There are no weight limits and no riding experience is required.
It is suitable for complete beginners as well as riders who want to deepen their understanding and confidence around horses.
What you will learn
You will learn how horses communicate through body language, posture, energy and intention.
You will discover how timing, pressure and release influence a horse’s response and behaviour.
By working on the ground, you will clearly see how your own body language and emotions affect a horse.
This awareness is the foundation of good horsemanship and later translates naturally into better riding!
Being next to a horse rather than on top of one gives you a completely different perspective...
Many riders find that this course helps them overcome fear, build confidence and feel safer around horses.
What is included

The course includes ten hours of intensive training spread over three days.

You will work with several different horses during the course.

There is theory time with coffee or water breaks where all questions are welcome.

The course includes two hours of master class grooming and horse care and you will learn how to properly muck out a stable with guidance from our stable manager.

This course is offered exclusively at Salty Cowboy and is mandatory for all riders who wish to continue with regular riding lessons at Salty Cowboy.
